If you are considering storing a mower for a long time, or in a commercial storage facility or lockup, here’s a few tips about safe storage.
- Drain any excess oil or petrol. One of the standard conditions when using storage is that you are unable to store anything flammable in your space.
- Store your mower horizontally (flat). This will prevent oil/petrol leakage.
- Fold down the handle. If the handle folds or breaks down then make sure this is done. This will save you storage space.
- Clean your mower before storing. By removing excess grass clippings and dirt and storing your mower in a clean condition you will help prevent any deterioration/rust especially when storing long term. You will also discourage any pests which may be attracted to the grass clippings.
